David French

Born 17th of August 1963, Morecambe, Lancashire, UK. Completed an Art Foundation course at Preston Polytechnic in 80/81, but went on to work in the construction industry as a joiner.

Lectured in joinery for 12 years whilst also developing aspirations to paint full time.

David has exhibited his work in various venues in the northwest, (Storey Gallery Lancaster, Harris Museum Preston etc). He also exhibited at the Manchester Art Fair and the Mall Galleries London before selling his work through a national fine art publisher. His work can be found in collections throughout the UK and Europe.

In 2013 he set off with his partner, Kath and his easel, on a round the world cycle trip...'living the dream' of travel and escapism.

David paints mainly with acrylics on board, a medium that lends itself to the practicalities of travel and painting 'en plein air'.

'Painting beaches, people, a way that describe the desire to escape from 'normal' life. To travel to the places and sit with easel, experience the heat, sweat and sand and come away with an impression on canvas, of a moment in time, that reminds me that...I 'lived the dream'.'.......Dave French.
