Starting out as a self taught artist Sandra has been accepting commissions for her artwork for many years. Initially employed as an artist for a small cottage industry she went on to become an instructor for an art and craft based Government scheme in West Cumbria. Later she worked as a photographer and helped to run a small public relations and marketing company until deciding to return to developing her painting and drawing.
Sandra has been working as an artist and illustrator since completing her degree in Fine Art at St Martin’s College, Lancaster in 2007. Prior to her degree course she spent a year studying Textile and Surface Design at the University of Bolton. She lives in the small village of Borwick close to the Lancashire/Cumbria border and works from her home studio.
Sandra has recently been elected as an Associate Member of The Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA), she also exhibits regularly with The Society of Women Artists at The Mall Galleries in London. She is inspired by a love of drawing, the process of mark making and seeing shape, form and texture appear - a visual sensitivity.
